The Court has a Help Center to assist persons, who are not represented by an attorney, to handle both probate and juvenile matters. Assistance with probate matters includes estate administration, guardianship, name change or conformity, and birth records. Assistance with juvenile matters includes child custody, parenting/companionship time, and child support. Subject to the Court being open to the public and the schedule of The Help Center Director, The Help Center is generally open every Thursday and every other Monday, 9:00 am to 4:00 pm.
Scheduling an appointment is highly recommended. While The Help Center may assist a walk-in, those persons with an appointment are given preference. A telephonic meeting with The Help Center requires an appointment and certain documents must be completed and delivered to The Help Center before the scheduled phone call. The Help Center can only provide legal information (not legal advice) and assistance with the forms that you select. The Help Center cannot assist you if you already have an attorney for the matter to be discussed.
The Help Center will not provide any legal advice or legal counsel. To obtain legal advice for your matter you must retain an attorney to represent you, or if indigent, then in certain matters you may request a court-appointed attorney.
